Zero One was started in 2001 with the objective of
achieving convergence between computer technology and high-end
audio. By harnessing the immense power of modern PCs, we have been
able to achieve levels of digital audio processing in the Ti48
transport which would have been extremely expensive using conventional
chips. At the same time, the rapid growth in hard-disk capacity has
allowed us to design in useful archiving capacities for uncompressed
CD audio data. With our proprietary CD archiving and interface
software, we have made the Ti48 very user-friendly. However, as
audiophiles, we also wanted to ensure that the sound quality of the
reproduced music was as good we would like to listen to. Hence, our
custom software to perform upsampling, digital filtering and dither
processing and our audiophile-standard DAC, the Ar38, that links to
the Ti48 via a custom-24/192 I2S digital link.
More products based on our unique combination of audiophile-quality, user-friendly technology and direct-to-consumer pricing are in the pipeline. These include another DAC with a higher level of performance, a one-box archiving CD player and a series of digital amplifers.
Zero One products are designed in the UK and New Zealand and manufactured in Singapore.
